'Red Birds' Beadwork Pendant Necklace in Lime Green (BW137)
The main focal point of this necklace is an exquisite handmade glass lampwork bead made by the talented Samantha Capeling. I just had to have it when she offered it for sale in her auction!
I chose dutch spiral stitch to make the rope as that gave me most scope to use the tiny 3mm lime green firepolish beads I wanted to use (to add sparkle) along with the smooth round Czech glass beads in red and green. The seed beads are in pale green and opaque lime green. I wanted the beadwork to complement the focal bead rather than compete with it.
I made the bail to resemble a bird in flight (which it does, sort of!).
The necklace is 17.5" (455mm) long and fastens with a beadwork toggle clasp - perfect for people with metal allergies.
